The Lady Devils volleyball team is due to play today in the Sweet 16 of the Georgia High School Association AAA playoffs.

After defeating Savannah High School on the road in the first round of playoffs Saturday, Jackson High earned the right to host round two.

The round two games, a best-of-five series against Lovett, are due to be played beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson High.

The Lady Devils finished the regular season with an overall record of 25-8 and went 8-2 in area play. They were the No. 2 seed going into AAA state playoffs, which began Oct. 20.

Jackson took the runner-up trophy last month in the area championships after losing two games to Pike County in a best-of-three set.

The winner of the round-two state playoff match will face either Jackson County or Lumpkin County in round three, which is scheduled for Saturday.
