Richard James "Rick" Maddox
Richard James Maddox Rick', 60, passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2019 at home with his wife and son.
He was born September 5, 1958 in Griffin, GA., son of the late Aubrey Dulane Maddox and Mildred (Hartisch) Maddox.
Rick grew up in Jackson, GA and was one of six children in the family. He served honorably for 6 years in the United States Navy from 1978-1984. Later that year, he met his future wife, Dianne Crowell. They worked in the same department at AT&T in North Andover, MA. They married on November 29, 1985. Rick worked for many years in North Andover with AT&T, Lucent Technologies and lastly Alcatel Lucent. In the late 1980's, Dianne and Rick moved to Raymond, NH where they have resided the last 30 years.
Rick was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a quiet man, who loved children, enjoyed being on his computer, was an avid fisherman, loved to play music with his son Zach, and was a huge fan of the Rolling Stones. He also had a passion for collecting antique telephones.
Rick was predeceased by a daughter, Melinda Franklin and a brother, Herb Maddox.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Maddox, his son, Zachary Maddox, 3 grandsons from his late daughter, Chad, Dylan and Kyle McMurrey. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Grace Meredith and husband Glenn, Charlotte Washington and husband Aubrey, and Barbara Wall, as well as his brother Aubrey Maddox and wife Pam, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4:oo-7:oo PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:oo AM at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, 02215 or to the charity of one's choice.
