Jackson UMC

Jackson United Methodist Church, at 409 E. Third St., Jackson, will host an Alpha dinner at 6 p.m. Jan. 16, with the course beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Powerhouse Apostolic

Powerhouse Apostolic Church of Promise, at 3659 Brownlee Road, Forsyth, will host four weeks of three-night revival. Week 1 will be Jan. 16-18. Ole Country

The Ole Country Church, at 2649 Ga. Highway 155 N., McDonough, will host a third Sunday night singing at 6 p.m. Jan. 20 with the Heirborn Quartet. There is no ticket price, but a love offering will be taken. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

Church youth will be selling dinner in the fellowship hall after the concert.

Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist Church, at 363 Samuel L. Johnson Drive, Jackson, host ordination services for Brother Darryl Owens, Minister Phillis Owens, Minister Earl Evans, Minister Tonja Meadows, Minister Gwen Grier, Minister Velma Johnson and Minister Carrie Anderson at 2 p.m. Jan. 27.

Big New Year Gospel Bash

The Gospel Praise Radio Broadcast will sponsor the Big New Year Gospel Bash at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at United In Faith Ministries, 330 View Point Drive, Jackson. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Performers will include Supreme 7, Dixie Aires, The Gospel Enchanters, Madisonaires and Evangelist Bridgett Mays. St. Mary, Mother of God

St. Mary, Mother of God Catholic Church, at 359 Old Griffin Road, Jackson, has Saturday mass at 5 p.m. and Sunday mass at 9 a.m. Religious education is on Sundays from 10:20 to 11:20 a.m. Youth group, which is for middle through high school ages, takes place the second Sunday of each month, following religious education. Order of Christian Initiation for Adults meets Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to discuss faith and learn more about Catholicism. Daily Chaplet of Divine Mercy is at 3 p.m.

Jerusalem tour

Ed Hoard, pastor of Zebulon’s First Baptist Church, is inviting others to travel with him this February to the Holy Land. Hoard has been leading tours to Israel for 28 years, and this will be his final tour. Among the sites to be visited are the Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Golgotha, the Garden Tomb, Jerusalem and scores of other important biblical places. The nine-day tour is all-inclusive, including airfare, five-star hotels, a luxury touring coach, admission to all sites and a government-required tour guide. First Baptist

Jackson First Baptist Church, located at 1227 W. Third St., hosts the Ironmen Bible Study led by Pastor Cary Snelling every Wednesday at 6 a.m. All men are invited. Breakfast is free.

Macedonia Baptist Church, at 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, hosts Bible study for all ages each Sunday at 9 a.m. followed by a worship service at 10:30 a.m.
