AMERICUS — Tina Bennett of Jackson has made the summer 2018 dean’s list at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 400 students recognized for scholastic achievement, the university said.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, is a public, four-year unit of the University System of Georgia with more than 3,000 students.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lauren Collins of Jackson qualified for Belmont University’s summer 2018 dean’s list, the university said.

Eligibility for the summer session is based on a minimum nine-hour course load over 10 weeks and a quality grade-point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

“This achievement indicates that these students have placed a high priority on their work at Belmont and have invested time and energy in their studies,” Belmont Provost Thomas Burns said. “It is our strong belief that consistent application in this manner will reap great benefits, which will equip them for a lifetime of learning and growing.”
