Jackson resident Tyler Prine, 17, graduated from both Gordon State College and Faith Academy in Stockbridge over the weekend. He will attend the University of Alabama this fall. 

Jackson resident Tyler Prine graduated from Gordon State College Friday as a Move On When Ready student, obtaining his associate's degree in engineering.

Prine, 17, graduated cum laude with honors and has been on the dean's list all four semesters at Gordon. Prine also graduated from Faith Academy in Stockbridge as salutatorian, a day after the Gordon State graduation ceremony.

He will be attending the University of Alabama this fall and be enrolled in the Honors College.

Prine has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship and numerous other scholarships. He has intentions of obtaining his doctorate in physical chemistry and continuing on to teach in the university system.
