Victor and Glenda Henderson and Johnny and Cheryl Akins, all of Jackson, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allegra Akins, to Derik Fears.

Fears is the son of Debra Fears of Jackson.

The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School and is currently employed at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Center in Jackson. The future groom attended Jackson High School and is employed by Waste Industries of Stockbridge.

The couple plans to be married April 13 at 3 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 144 Hope McClure Road, Jackson. A dinner and reception will follow at the Butts County Parks and Recreation gymnasium.
