Church News: Shiloh revival Thursday, Friday

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual spring revival May 17 and 18, each night at 7:30 p.m. The speakers will be the Rev. Christopher McClain of St. Paul AME Church of Macon and the Rev. Gregory Tyler of Macedonia Baptist Church of Griffin.

Shiloh’s annual Youth Day will be May 20, beginning with Sunday school at 9 a.m., and regular services at 10 a.m. The guest for the day will be the Rev. Demontray Head Sr., of Faith Tabernacle of Jackson.

Macedonia Baptist

Macedonia Baptist Church, at 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, will hold a men’s retreat May 18 and 19 at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center.

The church will host a graduate recognition service on May 20, during morning worship. The Jackson High School Baccalaureate Service will be May 20 at 7 p.m., at the church.

Macedonia will host a simulcast of Joe Gibbs for Men May 26 from 8 a.m., to 12 p.m. at the church. The cost is $10 and includes breakfast.

The churchwide Memorial Day picnic will be May 27 at 5 p.m., at Dauset Trails.

Macedonia Missionary

St. James Missionary

St. James Missionary Baptist Church will hold its 106th church anniversary program May 20 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Tracy Bridges of the South River Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

Jackson Presbyterian Church hosts Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., and church service at 11 a.m. Pastor Becky Baker’s spring sermon series is entitled “Breakthrough!” The title of the sermon May 20 will be “Breaking Through from Despair to Hope.”

Vacation Bible school is June 25-28 from 6 to 8 p.m., for rising first-graders through rising fifth-graders.
