Abundant Life’s prayer and fasting for the upcoming year will be Jan. 8-29. Prayer during the fast will be Tuesdays and Saturdays at 6 p.m.
The church will hold a membership class Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m.
A Super Bowl party will be held Sunday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.
Ignite Youth will be hosting the fourth annual Valentine’s Banquet. Call the church office to book your reservation.

Courageous Small Group with Ryan Rigsby is Sundays at 9:45 a.m.

Powerhouse Apostolic

Macedonia Baptist Church
Macedonia Baptist Church, at 151 Macedonia Church Road, will host a fish fry to benefit its Upward Soccer Field on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Food will be available for take out or dine in at $8 per plate. First Baptist

Senior Pastor, Dr. Joe Bufford, is currently preaching a series on Sunday mornings entitled, “What Men Need to Hear.”
Offering envelopes for 2012 are now available in the hallway by the church office.
The Honduras Mission Team is sponsoring a “Celebration of Love” dinner and entertainment night on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $10. A photographer will be available. Sign-ups are available in Sunday School, at the Welcome Center, or in the church office.

Christian Education
The Christian Education Department of Faith Tabernacle First Deliverance Church will host its first meeting on the fifth Sunday morning, Jan. 29 at 8 a.m. The speaker will be Bernard McKibben, a member of the Gospel of Christ Church of Jackson.
On Feb. 18, the Prayer Warriors of the Church will host their annual Red and White Valentine's Banquet. The cost is $15 per single and $25 per couple. Gospel of Christ
On Sunday, Jan. 29 at 12:30 p.m., the Gospel of Christ Youth Department will host its fifth-Sunday youth program. The speaker will be the Rev. Liberty Baptist
Liberty Baptist Church, at 3043 High Falls Road, Jackson, will be hosting several events this month and next.
• Jan. 29: Youth Sunday. The youth will be filling the positions during the Sunday School hour and worship service. Support them and see them at work and hear them sing during the morning service.
• Jan. 29: Potato Bar Fundraiser. Come and have lunch. A youth building fundraiser hosted by Jessie Renfroe will be held immediately following the morning service. A potato bar with drinks and all the trimmings will be available for $6 per plate. Desserts will be sold separately. This fundraiser will go toward the fund for a new fellowship hall.
• Feb. 12: Valentine’s Day Dinner, after the morning worship service. The community is invited to eat free.
• Feb. 15: A youth Valentine’s party starts at 6:30 p.m. The event will include food, fun and games for youth ages 5 to 17.
• Feb. 24, 7 p.m.: A churchwide planning meeting and meal. Enjoy discussions and pizza.

Jackson UMC
The United Methodist Men of Jackson United Methodist Church will meet at 6:30 p.m., in the Lyon's Classroom, on Feb. 1. All men of the church are invited to attend.
The Mary Buttrill School will have an art gala on March 23, in the fellowship hall of the church. Children will present their art work and will perform. Tickets for adults are $10. Jackson Presbyterian Church hosts Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., and church service at 11 a.m. This season, Pastor Becky Baker’s sermon series is “What if ...,” through Feb. 12.
