Central Ga. EMC donates to Recreation Department

At Parks and Recreation Department baseball fields B and C, officials have dealt with an issue of foul balls flying from the fields onto adjacent fields and spectators. This year, Director Jim Herbert said the department was able to dedicate some money to correct this problem but still not enough to fix it. Central Georgia Electric Membership Corp., recently, donated to the park four wooden poles and set them in the ground, saving the Recreation Department $3,850 that it would have cost for a private vendor to supply this need. “Thanks to their generosity, we will have safety netting in place this baseball season that will protect players and spectators from flying foul balls,” Herbert said.
