The Jackson High School Soccer Booster Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m., in the Commons Area of JHS. The program will be “Meet the Red Devils” and will feature the newly selected players for the 2012 JHS soccer teams. All soccer parents and supporters are urged to attend. CAR WINDOW WASH FEB. 11
The Jackson High School Soccer Booster Club, this Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m., to 1 p.m., will be window washing all vehicles at the Park Avenue BP and the Four Points BP. All donations will be accepted. Have your windows washed in support of the 2012 JHS soccer teams.
BRIDGE LESSONS FEB. 13
The Butts County Friends of the Library is offering free contract bridge lessons on Monday evenings in February at the Butts County Library, 436 E. College Street. Pick up a flyer and sign up at the library, or call (770) 775-1696 for more information. Classes will be held from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., on Feb. 13, 20 and 27.
JHS DRAMA PRESENTATION FEB. 16, 17, 19
The students of Jackson High School will be performing “Cinderella” at the Rufus B. Adams Auditorium Feb. 16-17 at 7 p.m., and Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. The cost for adults is $5, and the cost for children 12 years old and younger is $3. FRIENDS OF INDIAN SPRINGS FEB. 16
The friends of Indian Springs State Park invite everyone to become involved in activities to improve the park in 2012. The group will meeting at the group shelter, 678 Lake Clark Road, on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. No park pass is required to attend.
Friends of Indian Springs will work this year to reclaim Lake McIntosh as a premiere fishing destination for the area. The group’s fisheries division will be making fish friendly habitat in the water and work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
DAUGHTERS MEETING FEB. 18
The William McIntosh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a Lunch and Learn meeting on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11:30 a.m., at the DAR Chapter House, 222 S. Mulberry St., Jackson. The public is welcome to attend. Bring lunch and enjoy a special presentation by “Gone With The Wind” expert, Herb Bridges. GRIFFIN LIONS DANCE FEB. 18
The Griffin Lions Club is sponsoring a Mardi Gras Dance on Feb. 18 at the Event Center, 551 N. Expressway, in Griffin. There will be dancing to music by renown disc jockey Cordell Capers, a 50/50 drawing, authentic New Orleans cuisine, a costume party, autographed items by the Atlanta Braves, tickets to Fernbank Museum, Six Flags and White Water Rafting, and more. BLOOD DRIVE FEB. 20
On Feb. 20, the American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive at First Baptist Church, 1227 W. Third St., in Jackson. Hours will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Find parking and the entrance into the blood drive area on the Harkness Street side of the building.
EXCHANGE CLUB MEETINGS
The Exchange Club of Jackson meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m., at the fairgrounds, located at 174 Fairground Street. For more information, call Andrea Baldwin at (678) 774-8056.
40th REUNION
The 40th class reunion of the Jackson High School Class of 1972 will be held this year. Members of the reunion committee are currently in the process of notifying classmates.
