Church News: United Methodist Men meeting Wednesday

The United Methodist Men of Jackson United Methodist Church will meet at 6:30 p.m., in the Lyon’s Classroom, on Feb. 1. All men of the church are invited to attend.

The Fifty-Plus Club will meet on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 12 p.m. Fifty-Plus is open to all members of the community. Call (770) 775-7714.

The Mary Buttrill School will have an art gala on March 23, in the fellowship hall of the church. Children will present their art work and will perform. Tickets for adults are $10. Wednesday Morning Bible Studies are held each Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., in the Parrish House, next to the church. All are invited.

Jehovah's Witnesses to Assemble

Local congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses will hear scriptural topics discussed at the yearly Circuit Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses Feb. 4 and 5, at the Conyers Assembly Hall, 125 Glen Road in Conyers. Abundant Life

Abundant Life will hold a membership class Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m.

A Super Bowl party will be held Sunday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.

Gospel of Christ

The Gospel of Christ Church, at 250 Mallet Street, Jackson, will be sponsoring a free community dinner on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 11:30 a.m., to 1:30 p.m. The dinner will be given out at the Gospel of Christ Fellowship Hall, first come, first served.

Joshua’s Place

Worship leader Catherine Mullins along with speaker June Evans will be joining the Fearless Women’s Conference. The theme this year is “Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone.” The conference is planned for March 8-10. Macedonia Missionary

The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, at 144 Hope McClure Road, Jackson, will be having its annual Black History Program Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. Minister Timothy Strickland will be the speaker.

The church will be hosting a special session for couples Feb. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m., called “Love, Relationships and Laughter.” The session will be held at the McIntosh Trail Early Childhood Development Council building, at 565 Recreation Drive, Jackson. First Baptist

First Baptist Church of Jackson’s senior pastor, Dr. Joe Bufford, is currently preaching a series on Sunday mornings entitled, “What Men Need to Hear.”

The Honduras Mission Team is sponsoring a “Celebration of Love” dinner and entertainment night on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $10. A photographer will be available. Sign-ups are available in Sunday School, at the Welcome Center, or in the church office.

New Children Ministry Day will be Feb. 11. This activity will give children an opportunity to share God’s love by distributing lunch and providing laundry kits to college students at Gordon College. Israel Temple

Israel Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, at 285 East First Street in Jackson, will have a book sale and fish fry Feb. 11 beginning at 10 a.m., and a Gospel and Liturgical Fest at 6 p.m.

Faith Tabernacle

On Feb. 18, the Prayer Warriors of Faith Tabernacle First Deliverance Church will host their annual Red and White Valentine’s Banquet. The cost is $15 per single and $25 per couple. Jackson Presbyterian
