Church News: Gospel of Christ thanking musicians

The Gospel of Christ Church family, along with Bishop B.F. and Elect Lady Pauline McKibben, will honor their musicians with an appreciation beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27 and climaxing on Friday, Sept. 30. CrossOver Ministries

The Men’s Ministry of CrossOver Ministries is meeting Oct. 1 at 8:30 a.m., for a fishing trip. There will be a fall festival on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.

CrossOver Ministries Kids Crusade presents “Big City Adventure” held every Sunday morning in the month of October. Rock Springs

Rock Springs Church, at 219 Rock Springs Road in Milner, will host a chicken-que Oct. 1 from 11 a.m., to 3 p.m. The meal will include barbecue chicken, cole slaw, baked beans and bread. Desserts will also be available.

Joshua’s Place

Joshua’s Place will celebrate its 11th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 2. The church will be having dinner after church for everyone to fellowship. Services are on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., and 6 p.m. The mission is to reach, restore, reconcile and reign. Lizzie Berry

The Lizzie Berry Baptist Church, at 190 Thomas Ferry Road, Jackson, will celebrate the anniversary of Pastor Reginald and First Lady Stephanie Bush on Oct. 2. Morning worship starts at 10 a.m., with speaker Asa Thurman of China Grove Baptist Church of Flovilla. The celebration will climax at 1 p.m., with Pastor G.R. Hill of St. James Baptist Church. Gospel Light

Gospel Light Baptist Church, at 123 Mimosa Street in Jackson, will be having homecoming Sunday, Oct. 2. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m., with morning service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Bruce Weeks will bring the message, with special singing by The Bruce Weeks Family. Dinner will be served after the morning service.

The church will be having a three-day revival Oct. 3-5 beginning at 7 p.m., each night. There will be a different preacher each night.

Macedonia Baptist

Macedonia Baptist Church will be conducting its “Renewal Project” from Oct. 2 through Oct. 5, and having guest speakers each day. On Sunday, Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m., and again at 6 p.m., Dr. Emir Caner, president of Truett-McConnell College will be speaking. On Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:45 p.m., attendees will hear from the Rev. Larry Wynn, vice president of evangelism and former pastor of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula. On Tuesday at 6:45 p.m., Dr. Gerald Harris, editor of the Christian Index and former president of the Georgia Baptist Convention, will speak. These special services will conclude on Wednesday, at 6:45 p.m., with Dr. Donald Reid, pastor of Aletheia Baptist Church in Macon as speaker. The community is invited for these services. Reach Out Ministries

Reach Out and Touch Ministries will host a clothing giveaway Oct. 5 from 9 a.m., to 2 p.m., with items including shoes, dresses, pants, shirts, and coats. The giveaway will be held at the Butts County Community Center, at 576 Ernest Biles Drive in Jackson.

Shiloh Missionary

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day on Oct. 9, beginning with morning worship service at 10 a.m. The church’s own Pastor Harry D. Sims will bring the message. The afternoon service will begin at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Robert L. Henderson and the Rock Creek Baptist Church as special guests. Friendship AME

The Friendship AME Church, at 2260 Ga. Highway 16, Jackson, will host its annual Men’s Day on Oct. 9 at 2:30 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. John Varner of Mount Airy Baptist Church in Forsyth.

Rising Star

The annual Mother Board Ministry Conference will be held Oct. 22 at the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, along with three other host churches, Mt. Pleasant Baptist, Oak Grove Baptist, and Towaliga County Line Baptist. All Mother Board Ministries are invited to come and share. Jackson UMC

Jackson United Methodist Church’s giant yard sale will be on Oct. 22. Call (770) 775-3520 or (770) 584-9699 to donate items. All proceeds go to youth mission trips. The next scheduled pick-up date is Oct. 1 for items you would like to donate.

Wednesday night dinners are back at Jackson UMC, at 6 p.m. The cost is $4 per person for adults.

The “Let’s Wrap” program provides new coats for children in the Butts County area. Last year 400 coats were given out. This is a community-wide program for all churches to help provide warm coats for the winter this year.

United in Faith

United in Faith Christian Ministries, with Pastor Anthony and First Lady Stephanie Williams, will be having its first fall festival on Oct. 29 from 11 a.m., to 6 p.m. The event will have jumpers, food, games and more fun including recording artist, Tru Beauty Gospel Artist, to perform and the UIFCM dance team. Exceedingly Grateful

Exceedingly Grateful Ministries, Inc., had its first worship service, Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Butts County Recreational Department. Jackson Presbyterian

The Rev. Becky Baker’s August-September sermon series at Jackson Presbyterian Church is “Growing in Prayer.” Sunday services include Sunday school beginning at 9:45 a.m., and church service at 11 a.m.

From 6 to 8 p.m., every Tuesday night, the church hosts dinner (adult price is $3, children free) and family Bible studies. There is something for all ages. The church is in the midst of an eight-week video series, “Max on Life” with Max Lucado, an adult Bible study. Youth Chill and Children’s Sprouts will continue their ongoing Bible studies.

First Baptist
