Liberty Baptist Church, located at 3043 High Falls Road, has several upcoming events.
• Dec. 2: The youth ages 11 through 17 will go to Clark’s Chapel in Thomaston to see the annual Christmas play. Permission forms must be brought to be able to go. Meet at the church at 5 p.m., for a meal before leaving for the play.
• Dec. 11: The church will host an outdoor live nativity scene and inside Christmas concert with a visit from Santa and refreshments immediately following. Bags of fruit will be given to all youth and teens and/or to each family.
• Dec. 14: The Annual Youth/Teen Christmas Party will be held at 6:30 p.m.
• Dec. 21: Youth and teens will carol and present gifts at a local nursing home. Bring a permission form to be able to go with the group. Be at the church at 6:30 p.m.
The church’s Advent services began Nov. 27 and will continue through December, with the last service being on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

First Baptist
The Adult Choir at First Baptist Church of Jackson will present its Christmas musical, “Christmas is Jesus,” on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m., and again on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. The musical includes a special performance by the First Baptist Middle School Choir.
The senior adults have an excursion planned for Thursday, Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. They will journey to the Garden Patch for dinner and then enjoy a driving tour through the Christmas lights and decorations at the Rock Ranch. Sign up at the Welcome Center or contact the church office.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, the Children’s Choir at First Baptist invites the community at 6 p.m., for a night of fun, laughter, and worship as it presents the musical, “The Great Christmas Giveaway.”

South River
The South River Baptist Church, at 124 Collier Road, will host its 40th Senior Choir’s Anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m. Several choirs and groups from the surrounding communities have been invited to attend. For more information, call (770) 775-6790.
Stark UMC
Santa’s Sweet Shop & Winter Wonderland at Stark United Methodist Church will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event is open to community and registration is not required. There will be pizza, candy, hot chocolate, games, crafts, and Santa. There are small fees for each activity.
The Stark UMC Christmas Cantata will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18 during the 11 a.m. worship service. Following the service the church will have a covered-dish dinner and Santa for the kids. United in Faith
United in Faith Christian Ministries, at 330 View Point Drive in Jackson, will be participating in a Christmas Community Outreach toy drive for residents of Butts, Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties. The ministry hopes to provide gifts to more than 200 children. Proof of residency is required and applications can be filled out in the church office. The deadline is Dec. 7. Bold Springs
The Music Ministry of Bold Springs C.M.E. Church is inviting choirs, soloists, praise teams, and liturgical dance ministries to join in its annual Gospel Fest & Feast celebration. The program will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The ministry is inviting participants to render two selections of praise. This is an annual fundraising event and all funds raised during this program will benefit efforts toward Phase III of Project Restoration and Renovation of the church sanctuary.

Joshua’s Place
Author and teacher Bob Sorge will be at Joshua’s Place on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., and Sunday morning, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. He is the author of “Secrets of the Secret Place,” “Envy,” and “Exploring Worship,” among others.
At the Saturday night service, the church extends a special invitation to pastors, church leaders and worship teams.

Jackson United Methodist
Jackson United Methodist Church’s Breakfast with Santa is on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. Professional pictures will be available.
The annual Boar’s Head Dinner is Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. To participate in the play, contact the church office at (770) 775-7238.
The Fifty Plus Club meeting is Thursday, Dec. 15 at 12 p.m. Call (770) 775-7714 for reservations.
The Christmas Cantata will be hosted by St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church at 3 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 18. The choir will consist of the choirs of Jackson United Methodist Church, both children and adult choirs. Members of the Presbyterian Church choir will also participate in the cantata. The instrumentalists will also join the choirs again this year.
Ben Wright will be holding Grief Group meetings on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., in the Discovery Classroom on the second floor of the fellowship hall. No reservations are required. There is no charge and everyone is invited to come as needed.

Ole Country
The Ole Country Church, at 2649 Ga. Highway 155 N., McDonough, will hold a Christmas celebration on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m., featuring The Diplomats, Archie Watkins, Smoky Mountain Reunion, Florida Boys and Danny Jones. A dessert reception will follow the singing. Nursery care will be provided.
House of God
The International House of God is located on Mulberry Street, in the Kiwanis building, across from Jimmy’s Steak and Seafood. Heart and Soul
