Abundant Life
Abundant Life's "Fuel Kids" Camp is Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22. Contact the office for details. Coming up July 30, from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., is the "Back to School Bash." Donations for school supplies are being accepted now. "P.U.S.H." (Pray Until Something Happens!) is held Tuesdays at 10 a.m., and 6 p.m. Childcare is provided for all services. Laodicea Baptist

South River
South River Baptist Church will hold its annual summer revival Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m., nightly. The speaker for the week will be the Rev. Jeremy Head, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church of Jackson.
The Virtuous Women of South River Baptist will hold a program entitled, "Women on the Battlefield for the Lord," on July 30 from 9 a.m., to 12 p.m. Speakers will be from surrounding churches and will share teachings on preparation for the enemy.

Jackson Christian
Jackson Christian Church, at 518 Brookwood Avenue, will host Boomerang Express vacation Bible school July 18-22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided.
Jackson UMC
The Jackson United Methodist Church's Fifty Plus group will meet on July 21 for lunch at 12 p.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. Fifty Plus is open to all and you do not have to be a member of the Methodist church or any church. The group enjoys food, fellowship, trips and programs. Call (770) 775-7714 for reservations.
A new group activity has been formed at the church, called the "Girls Lunch Brunch Group." The next meet is July 27 at 12 p.m., at Chylaca's (the new restaurant next to the old Tilles Restaurant). Join the group for fun, fellowship and a short devotional.

Family Life
Family Life Church, located 12689 Highway 87 N., in Juliette, is hosting a "Battle of the Bands" on Saturday, July 23. The registration fee is $25. Prizes will be awarded. Macedonia Missionary
The women of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church will host a luncheon for pastors' wives on July 23 from 12 to 3 p.m. There will be a meal, door prizes, hat modeling and fellowship for all who attend. The luncheon will be held at the McIntosh Trail Early Childhood Development building on Recreation Drive in Jackson. There will be three speakers: Bishop's First Lady Pauline McKibben, Pastor's First Lady Arsenia Bridges and Elder's First Lady Daisy Eusery. The attire is dressy church wear, and the color scheme is shades of purple. Rock Springs

Vacation Bible school at Stark United Methodist Church is being held July 25-29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is "Shake It Up." All children 4 years old to fifth-grade are invited to attend. Jackson Presbyterian
Jackson Presbyterian Church, at 240 N. Oak Street, Jackson, will hold a "High Seas Adventure with Christ" vacation Bible school July 25-28, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lizzie Berry
Lizzie Berry Baptist Church, at 190 Thomas Ferry Road, Jackson, will be having its vacation Bible school July 27-29 from 6 to 8 p.m., each night. Topics covered will be the cross, love and faith.
Sardis Baptist
Sardis Baptist Church, at 2120 Keys Ferry Road, McDonough, will hold its worship services at 11 a.m., on Sunday, with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. The church will have a guest speaker for the worship hour. Prayer meeting at 7 p.m., on Wednesday. All are invited to attend. Sardis continues to plan for the homecoming and anniversary of the church, which is 188 years old. Plans are being made for a program of history for the church. Sardis will have vacation Bible school July 27-29 from 7 to 9 p.m., each night. Commencement service will be on Sunday, July 31, at the 11 a.m. service.
Gospel Praise
The Sixth Anniversary Gospel Praise Radio Broadcast concert will be July 30 at 6:30 p.m., at the Rufus Adams Auditorium, 218 Woodland Way in Jackson. The concert will feature Evangelist Mary Ross, The Gospel Express, Southland Gospel Singers and Turning Point of Griffin, among others. Admission is $7 at the door. School supply drive
Churches from across the community will be working together for the Back-To-School Event July 30, from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., at the Butts County Recreation Department. The event is for students in Butts County Schools only. Free school supplies will be given to the first 1,000 children who attend with their parents. Parents must bring proof of residency.
Gospel of Christ
On Sunday, July 31, the Youth Department at Gospel of Christ will host a youth program beginning at 1 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m., the YPWW Department will host a Rip the Microphone Program entitled, "Centering Your Affections as a Christian." There will be numerous speakers.

Friendship AME
The Friendship AME Church, at 2260 Ga. Highway 16, Jackson, will hold a gospel sing-off featuring choirs, soloists and groups from around the county and other areas. The event will take place Aug. 27 at the National Guard Armory in Jackson, at 5 p.m. The cost will be $6 for those ages 12 and up, and $3 for those 6 to 11. Those 5 and under can enter free. Joshua's Place
Joshua's Place's Young Adults group offers "The Crushing: a gathering place for the next generation of world changers," every Thursday at 7 p.m. Whether you are in college, single, married, or fresh out of high school, you are invited. Indian Springs Chapel
The Butts County Historical Society announces that summer Sunday worship services will again be offered at the Indian Springs Chapel, through Labor Day. These services are designed to be non-denominational and are for the convenience of campers and other visitors to Indian Springs. However, services are open to the public. Once again Dr. Ed Hoard will be leading the worship services, which this year will begin at the new time of 9 a.m.
St. James
St. James Preschool, on Ga. Highway 155 in McDonough, is now enrolling for the 2011-2012 school year. Preschool is held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for 3- and 4-year-olds, and offers a rotation schedule for 4-year-olds to better prepare them for kindergarten. St. James also has preschool for 2-year-olds on Tuesday and Thursday and provides a Mother's Morning out program on Wednesday mornings for children 12 months to 23 months old.
