Jackson Progress-Argus
Santa Claus, accompanied by Jackson City Councilman Harold “Doc” McMichael (seated), makes his way around the square in Jackson on Friday night, during the annual Christmas parade organized by the Butts County Chamber of Commerce.
Jackson With roughly 100 entrants -- including two dozen horses, several beauty queens, loads of local businesses and civic groups and the big man himself, Santa Claus -- the annual Christmas parade returned to the town Square in Jackson on Friday, Dec. 2.
Volunteers from First Baptist Church handed out hot chocolate as spectators lined Third, Oak, Second and Mulberry streets to get a glimpse of friends, family and neighbors walk, march, dance and ride by on floats, on motorcycles, and in cars and trucks decorated in Christmas themes.
The parade, a tradition in its 16th year, is organized each year by the Butts County Chamber of Commerce.
