A Jackson woman has been granted bond on child molestation charges.

Annette Ladon Christian, 35, was granted $50,000 bond on July 7, on charges of child molestation and aggravated child molestation, according to court documents.

The alleged victim in the case is a 15-year-old male, according to Butts County authorities.

"The suspect's husband became aware of her criminal activity via some text messages she was exchanging with a minor child," said Butts County Sheriff's Lt. Tim Filbeck. "He confronted the juvenile and the juvenile's father and that's when it came to the attention of the Butts County Sheriff's Office."

Filbeck said the alleged encounters occurred over a several-month span from the end of 2009 to the beginning of 2010. He said the investigation also took several months.

Christian was arrested July 6.

A phone number by which to contact her could not be found. Her attorney, David LaMalva of Conyers, wrote in an e-mail, Tuesday, that he did not have information to share.
